US donates ambulances, trucks to Frontier Corps
PESHAWAR: The United States government has donated 20 ambulances and 33 four-wheel drive trucks to Frontier Corps under its commitment to provide assistance to security forces for their capacity building in war against terrorism.

James Flowers from the US Consulate officially delivered the vehicles to the officials of FC during a handover ceremony held at Hayatabad on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, US Ambassador to Pakistan Anne W. Patterson said that the new vehicles would strengthen the ability of the force to provide security and stability in the insurgency-hit province and tribal areas.
She added that so far her government had provided 27 ambulances, 85 trucks, 13 water trucks and about 120 troop carriers to FC, adding that besides a delivery of 18 water trucks and about 130 troop carriers vehicles was planned in the near future. "It is our hope that this gift of vehicles from the United States will assist Pakistan in their noble and worthy cause," She said.
"We pay special tribute to the gallantry and extraordinary sacrifices rendered by Pakistan's military forces and civilians in fight against terrorism," US diplomat added.
In 2009, Washington's civilian and security assistance to the country reached $3 billion which included assistance in medical, education, irrigation and other civic sectors, she maintained
