It has been a while since amaana.com has come to the Pakistani Market. However its adoption has been slow on the internet within Pakistani market. One of the reasons has been non-availability of ready to use addons for popular Open Source shopping carts.



Amaana allows individuals and businesses to transact money on the internet via Text Messaging on Mobile Phones.  With this problem in mind i have written a Amaana's Payment module for a popular Open Source shopping system OSCommerce.

This will enable anyone in Pakistan to deploy OSCommerce and plug it in with Amaana.
I have released this module under GNU GPL at addons.oscommerce.com/info/6088

Hopefully this will enable alot of people to sell locally and Internationally from Pakistan.

Amaana does not process credit cards, as result it is nothing more then a mobile wallet.  So you have to put the money in first to use it.

It is worth mentioning that physical retail has become really expensive, the cost of acquisition per customer has increased drastically due to increase general cost of doing business in Pakistan. If good and easy to use only payment solutions are made available to the people it can exponentially increase e-tailing in Pakistan.
