Yes to Talebanization

Sounds radical and dangerous right?

But this is happening all over Pakistan. You dont need to be scared. What you need to do is understand the "why?". Why is this happening?

Just today while driving, close to my home in Karachi i got stopped by a police patrol.

Once stoped, i told him i live near by (and was taking out my documents, when), Upon finding this out the policeman immediately started asking me for my co-operation. I asked him what co-operation and he said atleast Rs1000/- ($14)

I had no change i decided to part with hardearned money to avoid any unnecessary delay at the hand of these policeman.

As soon as the ordeal got over the first thought in my mind was, Someone should just kill these crooks. The 2nd thought was no wonder the Taleban are killing the policemen and armymen.

When this is what the police does in the heart of Pakistan's commercial capital what would they must be doing in remote areas of the country?

No wonder the Taleban have popular support now.

It is not a religious fervor, but reaction to the state's unjust system. Religion just happens to be the vehicle that they(the taleban) are using.

1. Were you short of some documents .. PUC etc?

2. I am from India, and the cops stopping bikes and cars JLT is common. We give them a Rs 50 note if we are short of a document, and Rs 100 or 150 if multiple laws have been broken or if the inspector is a senior guy

BUT NEVER even a SINGLE Rupee has to be given if we are not a fault! Fighting the case against cops is a scary thought. But then I would choose to walk the tough path and set an example instead of donating ...

i dont want brand the entier force as croupt. It is the same people who takes bullets for us. However i feel bulk has gone bad.

Its nothting new every metropolis will have these examples. But due to sharing the border with Afghanistan which has been in a state of conflict for decades, few people here have been able to import the mean and an ideology that is very attractive for people who want to rebell against injustice.

I am saying what they do is right except that now the means are available for people to vent vengence and anger against the infringments that probablly happen in every big city except here people have the option now to rebell will force.
