GEO, AAJ, ARY &  Indus Block Local News to Cover US elections. On morning Nov 5th 2008 I was amazed to see ZERO local news coverage. It was as if Pakistan did not exisit. Only United States Of America mattered.

 We just got 300,000+ internally displaced people. Hundreds of people lost their lives in last two weeks as result of US drone attacks and Pakistani Jet bombardment of tribal area. The country is going through severe economic situation. US is affective blocking funds for Pakistan in IMF and Friends of Pakistan forum. The earthquake in Balochistan is take the life and soul away from people. And there is extreem shortage of electricity even today in karachi.

And what does GEO TV, AAJ News, ARY One World and Indus News  shows? They provide non-stop coverage to US Presidential Elections - Live.

Could we sink more low?

The only channel which i saw was providing local news coverage on morning of Nov5th 2008 was TV One News.

Why does US elections matter to a bus driver, The guy who makes tea at the Quetta hotels in karachi, the shoe shine boys, the farmer who is dying due to low "dhan" prices. The people who are crushed under inflation. It does not matter to them.

Are we satellite US state? Are we a governerate of United States? The local 'Pakistani' news channels seems to think so.
