Taza Kino - Taza=Fresh, Kino=Orange

TazaKino.Com is a Citizen Journalism website from Pakistan.

I conceived the idea in around November 2007 when there was an emergency rule imposed on Pakistan. There was a temporary ban on Television News Channels at that time. The relative quite gave me the time to think. The absence of bulk news made me realize that News Media plays a huge role in forming a nation's opinion. If the people who make the news mill work have an agenda to boot then you can get a skewed point of view.

It was then when I decided to create a platform where the people could report news by themselves as they see it. Report on what is important for them and not be burdened by the intellectual elite. This would be there way of getting back at the news media letting them know about News, Business, Technology, Social life, Entertainment and Rumors as they see them everyday.

Collaborative Effort

Taza Kino is a collaborative effort. From the technology that makes Taza Kino work to the News Reports that get filed here every day. You can think of Taza Kino as an Open Source News Paper. Without this collaboration Taza Kino would not have happened.
